Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chair Don Jenicek.
Roll call: Supervisor Mike Garnich, present; Supervisor Bill Bodin, present; Chair Don Jenicek, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren, present. Others in attendance were Mike Yonan, Bob and Nicola Cuty.
Approval of minutes 5/10/2022. Motion was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Mike Garnich to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Approval of Board of Review 6/1/2022. Motion was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Mike Garnich to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Treasurer report by Kelly Warren. Checking $50,630.06; Equipment $3,189.64; Room tax $5,643.80; Contingency fund $16,381.07 and Tax levy $137,972.50.
Citizens concerns and comments –
Discussion for a recommendation for a railing to be added for safety by Historical Committee between the depot and train tracks.
HFNP update. Judge John Anderson recused himself and Judge Judy Stella of Iron County was appointed for the dispute.
Class A permit by Larry Depa for shoreline restoration. Motion was made by Mike Garnich seconded by Don Jenicek to approve and sign. Bill Bodin abstained from voting. Motion carried.
Discussion and possible action regarding BC Health Dept. room tax letter. An email was sent to Sara Wartman inviting her to this meeting to explain what help this would be for Town of Bayview. No response. Motion made by Mike Garnich seconded by Bill Bodin that the Town of Bayviews recommendation would be you increase your fees to cover these expenses and pursue those not properly permitted. Motion carried.
Discussion and possible action regarding Kayak tours by Paddle Ride Adventure LLC /Chris Prysok.
Board member Mike Garnich had checked with the National Park Service and this company does not have a permit. Motion was made by Mike Garnich seconded by Bill Bodin to deny the Paddle Ride Adventure/ Chris Prysok the use of any Town of Bayview beaches as well as Houghton Falls Nature Preserve. Motion carried.
Blacktop bids – No bids were received; it was decided to rebid for next meeting.
Assessor 2-year contract was reviewed. Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Bill Bodin to approve 2023 for full re-evaluation $25,000 and 2024 for a regular evaluation at $8,500. Motion carried.
Roads report by Mike Yonan. Calcium chloride has been ordered. They have been graveling in spots and cutting grass has started. Mike Garnich asked when they would be cutting tree limbs hanging over Bodin Road and Frostman Road. A large dead pine at Bayview Park was mentioned and they decided to ask Dan Maki if he could take care of cutting it down.
Payment of bills in the amount of $33,500.25. Motion was made by Mike Garnich seconded by Bill Bodin. Motion carried. Mike Yonan to check with Bob Olson on gravel costs.
Next meeting is set for Monday, July 11th, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.
