Monthly Board Meeting
Town of Bayview
June 14th, 2016
Meeting was called to order by Charly Ray at 6:00 p.m.
Roll call: Supervisor Larry Nelson, absent; Supervisor Don Jenicek, present; Chairman Charly Ray, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren, present. Others present: Paul Norris, Sue Radtke, Bob & Nicola Cuty, Deb Gierczic, Paul Johnson Joe Russo and Butch Warren.
Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Don Jenicek to approve minutes of 5/10/16 Regular Monthly meeting; 5/25/16 Special Meeting and 5/26/16 Board of Review and 5/29/16 Special Meeting as presented. Motion carried.
Treasurer Report was given by Kelly Warren. Checking $12,432.04; Equipment $7,959.23; Room Tax $5,495.61 and Tax account $41,512.68.
Citizens’ concerns and comments–
Paul Norris spoke as an advocate for Whiting Road and states that the town is falling down on the maintenance of this road. Charly Ray explained procedures for different weather conditions and Don Jenicek reported that there has been gravel budgeted for this road and the road crew was working on spreading gravel. Don Jenicek also stated that the ditches along Whiting Road need to be re-dug.
In Mike Yonan’s absence Charly report from an email sent to him by Mike:
- Calcium all done
- Culverts in of Friendly Valley and Big Rock Roads
- Spread gravel on Maki and Whiting Roads
- Fixing Dump truck that has brake and hydraulic problems
- They have been grading and dragging roads.
Mike also stated they need to get out and fix some more on Smith Fire Lane, patch culvert bumps.
Sue Radtke stated she would like to see a 5 member board instead of 3.
Joe Russo requested an update on internet speed in the Town of Bayview. Charly Ray reported that he had attended a meeting and that money has been approved for upgrades and it looks like Town of Bayview falls under the second year of a two year program.
5 Year Road plan – reviewed.
Parks Committee report was given by Paul Johnson. Volunteers are needed for gate closing and monitoring of the trail.
HFNP cleanup day was held on June 4th. There was a good turnout and got a lot accomplished. Some areas of brush piles will be replaced by railings when grant funded trail improvements begin over the next year.
July 7th will be meeting to plan Town Picnic that is scheduled for September 10th.
Don Jenicek met with Mike Frees regarding grant work and scope of work. Bruce Moore has agreed to be point on this upcoming project.
Survey estimate for 3 location within the park is $1,200-$1,800. Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Don Jenicek to proceed with Pine Ridge Surveying. Motion carried.
Relocation of paymaster booth to Bayview Park was brought up by Paul Johnson. Motion to relocate paymaster booth to Bayview Park was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Charly Ray. Motion carried.
Liquor License for Good Thyme Restaurant. Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Charly Ray to approve. Motion carried.
Liquor License Valhalla View Pub & Grub. Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Charly Ray to approve. Motion carried.
Payment of the bills in the amount of $73,253.40. Motion to approve and pay as present was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Charly Ray. Motion carried.
Correspondence reviewed – No action taken.
Next Meeting was set for July 12th, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
Motion to adjourn was made by Charly Ray seconded by Don Jenicek.
