Town of Bayview
October 14^th, 2014

Charly Ray Chairman called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Roll call:  Charly Ray Chairman, present; Larry Nelson Supervisor, present; Greg Rozier Supervisor, present; Carol DeMars Treasurer, present and Wanda Hyde Clerk absent.

Others present:  Joe Johanik, Paul Norris, Linda Bodin, Deb O’Leary, Robert Bodin, Tom Murphy, Wendy Murphy, Mike Yonan, Dave Kedrowski, Woody Peterson and Steve Kreuser.

Order of agenda was changed.

Minutes of September 9^th, 2014.  Motion was made by Greg Rozier seconded by Larry Nelson to approve as presented.  Motion carried.

Minutes of September 23^rd, 2014.  Motion was made by Greg Rozier seconded by Larry Nelson to approve as presented.  Motion carried.

Treasurer Report was given by Treasurer Carol DeMars.  Checking $43,511.80; Equipment $5,231.38; and Room Tax $7,258.49.

Citizens’ Concerns and Comments:

Steve Kreuser thanked the town for good job road grading.   Concerned about road damage new logging operation in his area might cause.

Old Business:

Houghton Falls update.  Parking issue and parking lot damage, pictures presented by Tom Murphy showing damage. Charly Ray has spoken with Mary Motiff of Bayfield County regarding a cut back in advertising and the fact that people from Houghton Falls area support the concern about traffic and damage.

Road Business:

Mike Yonan, Road Supervisor reported that winter timber sale was moved to summer sale, causing damage on Little Sioux.  Monies used to repair that was not in 2014 plan.  Next project would be cutting brush in barrens.

Road Committee, Paul Norris, expressed concern about near miss with school bus and logging truck.  Road Committee not pleased with 10 year road plan.  It seemed to cover some area they had covered with existing funds without levels.  Charly asked Board what they thought about 10 year road plan.  Larry and Greg were not in favor of 10 year road plan.  Charly stated based on the negative response from board members we should drop the whole idea of increasing tax levy.

Approval of Bills.  Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Greg Rozier to approve and sign.

Motion carried.

Correspondence – No action necessary.

Budget meeting of town board to meet on November 6^th 6:00p.m.

Meeting of electors set for Monday, November 10^th, 6:00 p.m. with regular board meeting to follows.

Motion was made by Greg Rozier seconded by Larry Nelson to go into closed session for employee performance review per Wisconsin State Statutes 19.85(1) (b) & (c) for personnel matters, then return to open session to take any action that may be necessary on the closed session item. Roll call vote:  Larry Nelson, yes; Greg Rozier, yes, and Charly Ray, yes.  Motion carried.

Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Greg Rozier to raise Michel Wendell hourly rate by $1.25.  Motion carried.

Mike Yonan’s raise was tabled until board reviews budget on November 6^th, 2014.

Motion to adjourn was made by Charly Ray seconded by Greg Rozier.
