Monthly Board Meeting October 10th, 2017

October 10th, 2017
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Charly Ray at 6:00 p.m.
Roll call: Supervisor Larry Nelson, present; Supervisor Don Jenicek, present; Chairman Charly Ray, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren, present. Others present: David Hyde, Mike Yonan, Bob & Nicola Cuty, Susan Rousch, Tom Medler, Steve Kreuser, David Warren, Paul Johnson, Jan Mitler, and Nancy Campbell.
Minutes of September 6th, 2017. Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Treasurer report was given by Kelly Warren. Checking $35,979.84, Equipment $4,828.77, Room Tax $4,209.77 and tax levy $13,060.49.
Citizen’s Concerns –
Krueser asked when they were going to fix the road he lives on. Mike stated that they were going fix the blow holes with bigger rock.
Discussion and appointment of volunteer for Xcel Energy Project Alternatives Committee. Charly talked with John Sopiwnik, who was interested and presented the board with his resume. Bayfield County has extended making their decision until January. Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson to allow John Sopiwnik to represent Town of Bayview on the Xcel Energy Project Committee. Motion carried.
Bayview Historical Society has three people interested in forming a committee to work on the Depot building restoration.
Houghton Falls trail project permit with Bayfield County are completed. Second permit where the trail crosses Cuty’s property is being worked on. Charly Ray would check to see if permits would be eligible for grant funding.
Road Report: Mike Yonan reported they had graded FR 102. Trying to complete Maki Road project and Northwoods Paving has agreed to repair blacktop next year. Need to put in 2 culverts on FR 103.
Howell Road is ready to be graded.
2018 Budget Review and questions. Have a draft for next monthly meeting.
Payment of bills in the amount of $239,396.18. Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to approve and pay. Motion carried.
Correspondence – none
Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Don Jenicek to go into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin State Statutes 19.85 (1) (c) for compensation and performance evaluation of road crew. Roll call vote:
Larry Nelson, yes; Don Jenicek, yes and Charly Ray, yes. Motion carried.
Motion to reconvene in open session was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson. Motion carried.
Reconvene at 7:57 p.m.
Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to give both of the road crew a 2% raise in 2018. Motion carried.
Next meeting was set for Nov. 14th, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
Motion to adjourn was made by Charly Ray seconded by Don Jenicek.
