Monthly Board Meeting May 9th, 2017

May 9th, 2017
Meeting was called to order by Charly Ray, Chairman at 6 p.m.
Roll call: Supervisor Larry Nelson, present; Supervisor Don Jenicek, present; Chairman Charly Ray, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren, present. Others present were:
David Hyde, Bob & Nicola Cuty, Arnie Nelson, Allan Smiles, Becky Sue Nielson & Aven Frank and Mike Yonan.
Minutes of April 18th, 2017. Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Don Jenicek to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Treasurer Report was given by Kelly Warren. Checking $21,376.85; Equipment Fund $1,828.43; Room Tax $3,027.77 and Tax levy savings $73,047.85.
Citizen’s Concerns and Comments – None
Moved the two permits requests forward to this spot on the agenda.
Allan Smiles Class B Permit for shoreline restoration was reviewed and discussed. Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Charly Ray to approve as long as they have to comply with the DNR and Core of Engineers. Motion carried.
Rebecca Sue Nielson Class B special use permit to operate a massage therapy office in her home.
Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to approve. Motion carried.
Road Report:
Mike Yonan reported that they were working in the woods and on Maki Road. The gate at HFNP is now operating properly. Mike would put Maki Road paving project out for a bid to be opened at the July meeting. Mike will put the Paser Report on his to do list.
5 Year Road Plan –
Charly Ray was in contact with Nancy Campbell by letter and phone regarding the trees on town right-of-way in front of her property. Nancy has requested that we don’t take the trees out in front of her property until ready to pave the road.
Possible action on trail work plan – no action this month.
Mike Fries would like to come to the town board meeting and talk with the board regarding HFNP Grant. Possibly in July.
No update on Heritage Center at this time.
Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Don Jenicek to approve a Line of Credit of $50,000.00.
Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to rescind the first motion for $50,000.00 line of credit and add that we would apply for multiple years not to exceed three. Motion carried.
Bill in the amount of $16,537.56. Motion to approve and sign as presented was made by Larry Nelson, seconded by Don Jenicek. Motion carried.
Wisconsin Towns Association has a new Handbook. Wanda Hyde was instructed to order 2 handbooks.
Open book is set for May 30th from 4-6 p.m. and Board of Review from 6-8 p.m.
Next meeting is set for June 13th, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
