Monthly Board Meeting May 8th, 2018

Meeting was called to order at 5:02 p.m. by Chairman Charly Ray.

Roll call:  Supervisor Larry Nelson, present; Supervisor Don Jenicek, present; Chairman Charly Ray, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren, present.  Other present were:  David Hyde, Paul Johnson, Bob & Nicola Cuty, Mike Yonan, David Warren and Bill Bodin.

Approval of Minutes 4/17/2018.  Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Charly Ray to approve minutes with changes noted.  Motion carried.

Treasurer Report was given by Kelly Warren.  Current balances were Checking $76,849.40; equipment $4,829.61, room tax $7,439.77 and tax levy $92,245.61.

Citizen’s Concerns – none

Road report by Mike Yonan.  Rental of a backhoe for a month $5,300 or $1,800 a week.  Possible use would be work on Smith Fire Lane.

Review 5 year road plan – discussion to take place next month.

Road tour report will be sent to Wanda Hyde by Charly Ray.

Parks Committee – Paula Bunch’s health has prevented her from being active on this committee.  Jenny Croonborg-Murphy has resigned.  Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Don Jenicek to have John Sopiwnik to serve on the parks committee.  Motion carried. 

Houghton Falls archeological dig – any artifacts would go to Madeline Island Museum, but the Town of Bayview would retain ownership.

Summer trail work – North York Const. would be able to start carpentry in August. Dirt Candy would do trail work.

Xcel Powerline – no changes.

Payment of bills in the amount of $72,271.05.  Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to approve as presented.  Motion carried.

Re-open Citizen’s Concerns – There is some thought to adding a Yurt at Bayview Park location.

There is potential for another grant to upgrade internet services, Mark Abeles – Allison, County Administrator is work on this grant application.

Wanda Hyde was requested to correct Emergency prepared list with current board members.

Next meeting is set for June 12th at 6:00 p.m.

Motion to adjourn was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson at 6:03 p.m.
