Citizens Concerns and Comments:
Road Report:
Darienne McNamara Coordinator for Northwoods Cooperative spoke on the invasive weeds along Town of Bayview Roads. She presented a town map with locations and types of invasive weeds. Suggested the town mow twice a year instead of one time per year. She mentioned what she called hot spots for Japanese Knot weed on Whiting Road by STH 13; Leafy Spurge – Big Rock Road and Bodin Road; and Dalmatian Toad Flax on Friendly Valley Road. Charly Ray will draft a letter to Forest Service and DNR regarding equipment doing forest work carrying weeds from location to location. ATV’s snowmobiles and more were mentioned as spreaders of these noxious weeds. Another suggestion was a weed pulling day of the annual picnic. Darienne is more than willing to work with the town on exterminating these weeds.
Road Salt/covering was discussed. It was decided that next year we would purchase tarp and cover rather than hauling away left over salt/sand.
Al House announced that the grant from Wisconsin Coastal Management in the amount of $5,957 has been approved, we had previously been granted $5,937 matching funds from Knowles Nelson stewardship funds. Al House offered to write up specs for labor and Mike Yonan would seek prices for materials. Project to start after July 1st, 2012.
