Monthly Board Meeting March 9th, 2021

March 9th, 2021
Meeting was called to order by the Chair Charly Ray at 6:02 p.m.
Roll call: Supervisor Bill Bodin, present; Supervisor Don Jenicek, present; Chair Charly Ray, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren present. Other’s present were: Mike Yonan, Paul Johnson, Michael Garnich, Mike Kasino and Butch Warren. Bertram Kasiskie was present through zoom.
Minutes of February 9th, 2021. Motion was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Don Jenicek to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Treasure report was given by Kelly Warren. Checking account $63,640.97; Equipment $6,399.25; Room tax $676.07; Contingency Fund $20,001.01 and Tax Levy Account $253,593.99. Wanda Hyde mentioned that $117,000.00 of Tax Levy is for Maki Road West project.
Bill Bodin reported on the room tax meeting that was held at the City of Washburn. Charly Ray will write a letter to be sent to Beth Meyers and Janet Bewley. Kelly Warren will write a letter to the property owners for more clarity in their accounting.
Citizens’ Concerns and Comments
Paul Johnson of Bayview History Committee talked about three issues looking for approval by the town board.
- Signage on backside of sign board
- Pavers in front and behind notice board and sign NE Corner of Depot.
- Grade crossing
Charly Ray stated he was comfortable with plan, do not need extra ramp and extra steps and keep signage to a minimum.
Annual Town Meeting is set for April 20th at 7:00 p.m. The Board reviewed the 2020 Financial Report to be presented at that time.
Road Report by Mike Yonan. The town has done some brushing for the City of Washburn for which they will be billed. Mike also stated that he was looking into a price for a salt/sand storage building.
Road limits will be in effect from March 15th to May 10th at 12:01 a.m.
2021 Equipment Rates. Motion to approve state equipment rates for 2021 was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Charly Ray. Motion carried.
Discussion of 5-year road plan took place.
Charly Ray talked of invasive weed plan he has been working with County weed personnel, interns would do the work and the town has budgeted $2000 in parks department for this project.
Payment of the bills in the amount of $534,282.26. Motion was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Don Jenicek to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Correspondence –
Charly Ray noted that Bayfield Electric is going back to the original offer on solar reimbursement.
Next meeting is scheduled for April 20th, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
Motion to adjourn was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Bill Bodin.
