Monthly Board Meeting March 8th, 2022

Meeting was called to order at 6:01 by Chair Don Jenicek.

Roll call:  Supervisor Mike Garnich present, Supervisor Bill Bodin present, Chair Don Jenicek present, Clerk Wanda Hyde present, Treasurer Kelly Warren absent.  Others present were Cary Bouchard, Mike Yonan and Mel Olson.

Minutes of February 8th, 2022.  Motion was made by Mike Garnich seconded by Bill Bodin to approve with two edits.  Motion carried.

Treasurer report for Kelly Warren was given by Wanda Hyde.  Checking $135,720.59; Equipment $8,399.82; Room tax $4,651.22, Contingency fund $30,003.10 and tax levy savings $137,969.02.

Citizen’s concerns and comments – There were none currently.

Rain Gutter and door issues – Move to April agenda.

HFNP update:   Our Insurance Attorney Mike Roman is addressing the issue.  Don Jenicek has been keeping Landmark, Coastal Management and DNR updated.

Discussion regarding closing HFNP during run off for safety reasons was discussed.  Mike Garnich will work on a sign for the gate.

Road report by Mike Yonan– The 2007 John Deere Grader needs major repairs. Motion was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Mike Garnich to use Contingency Fund for the major repair of the grader quoted at approximately $15,000. and other repairs to come from the Equipment Fund. Motion carried.

2021 Annual Report was reviewed.  Motion was made by Mike Garnich seconded by Bill Bodin to approve the 2021 Annual Report and distribute at the Annual Meeting.  Motion carried.

Shop Equipment – computer.  Motion was made by Mike Garnich seconded by Bill Bodin to approve the purchase of a computer for the shop up to $1,000.00 and funds to come from general fund. Motion carried.

Payment of bills in the amount of $559,550.52.  Motion was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Mike Garnich to approve as presented.  Motion carried.

Correspondence –

Wanda Hyde reported that Heart Graphics did not get the Bayview History Committee Report in the newsletter and has agreed to do it for free.  We will need to pay the postage in the amount of $137.75.

Kelly Warren had Wanda Hyde to ask what she should do with room tax person that is consistently late reporting their room tax and she had sent him a letter charging him $25.00 for late filing and has heard nothing.

Bill Bodin reported on the 2021 Room Tax Washburn Chamber Report.

Wanda Hyde reported that as of 2022 someone must take the Board of Review Training every year.

Bayfield County Forestry and Parts Department has a deadline of April 1st to put in for funding on forest roads.  Mike Yonan will come up with a plan.

Wanda Hyde reported that she had gotten another request to be Ambassador for HFNP.  This will be added to April’s agenda.
