Monthly Board Meeting
March 8, 2011
Meeting was called to order by Chairman, Don Jenicek at 6:00 p.m.
Roll Call: Al House, Supervisor; Bob Bodin, Supervisor; Wanda Hyde, Clerk; Don Jenicek, Chairman. Carol DeMars, Treasurer is absent. Others present were: David Hyde, Deb Gierczic, Mike Yonan, Larry Nelson, Paul Johnson and Karen Johnson.
Approval of Minutes of February 8th, 2011. Motion was made to approve minutes with word sing changed to sign by Al House and seconded by Bob Bodin. Motion carried.
Treasurer Report – In Carol DeMars absence report was given by Wanda Hyde, Clerk. Checking $55,139.77; Regular Savings $66,266.30; Tax account $95,393.13; HFNP $5,726.43; Equipment Fund $1,320.00 and Room Tax $18,025.32.
Payment of Bills – Motion to approve payment of bills in the amount of $551,788.80 was made by Al House seconded by Bob Bodin. Motion carried.
Citizens concerns and comments.
There was some concern as to how Governor’s bill would affect this township.
It was noted that Houghton Falls Nature Preserve trail is slippery.
Road Report – Mike Yonan Road Superintendant reported that they have been doing a lot of repairs to equipment and steaming culverts.
Mike will contact the county regarding harvesting trees in the right of way along 2 miles section of FR102.
Old Business –
Parks Committee will be approved at the April meeting. There are three people that requested being on this committee since last month. They are Paul Johnson, Jason Maloney and Sue Jenicek.
Letter was received from Cheryl and Ed Endres stating that they would cover the cost for the sign on Carrier Road. Only one other resident contacted the town and he was not interested in helping with cost of said sign.
New Business –
Road Superintendent Mike Yonan was requested to get a price a new dump body. A quote from Monroe Trucking was reviewed for a 10’ carbon steel box in the amount of $40,783.00. As this was not a budgeted item it will be placed on the Annual Meeting agenda in April.
Escrow Tax Accounts was discussed. Carol DeMars is requesting permission to return checks that do not have proper information on them tying them to a specific piece of property. Motion by Bob Bodin seconded by Al House to approve the returning of checks to financial institutions that do not have proper information tying them to property taxes are being paid. Motion carried.
Correspondence – No action necessary.
Next monthly meeting is set for Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.
Town of Bayview Annual Meeting will be Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
Motion to adjourn was made by Al House seconded by Bob Bodin.
