Monthly Board Meeting March 14th, 2017

March 14th, 2017
Meeting was called to order by Chairman, Charly Ray at 6:01 p.m.
Roll Call: Supervisor Larry Nelson, present; Supervisor Don Jenicek, present; Chairman Charly Ray, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren, present. Others present were: Paul Johnson, Mike Garnich and Mike Yonan.
Minutes of February 14th, 2017. Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Don Jenicek to approve with one correction by Charly Ray. Motion carried.
Treasurer Report by Kelly Warren:
Checking $21,009.32; Equipment $1,828.34; Room Tax $2,437.76 and Tax levy $113,519.30.
Citizens’ Concerns & Comments – none
Class A Permit by Allan Smiles for cut tag alders 20’ back from shore along shoreline, place clean fill (approx.. 40-60 yds.) in that area so machines can work to place rip rap along the shore, seed and straw on the way out. Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Charly Ray to not approve this permit. Motion carried.
Road Report by Mike Yonan:
Dan Peterson had a complaint about road bans limiting customer access. Road bans have been the same for several years.
If anyone needs an exemption they need to contact Mike Yonan.
5 Year Road Plan – no action until after road tour.
Road tour is set for April 18th, at 7 a.m.
2017 Equipment Rates. Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to accept the 2017 state rates for equipment. Motion carried.
Parks Committee minutes were reviewed. They have an offer of volunteers in Jay Cablk’s memory to help out with our in kind portion required by grant.
Charly Ray will be working on a Knowles Nelson Stewardship grant application for this project at HF Nature Preserve.
Don Jenicek will contact Mike Friis regarding partial payment for work done.
Parks Committee recommend extending membership of Carla Kedrowski, Linda Jorgenson and Sue Jenicek for 3 more years. Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to approve the extension. Motion carried.
Heritage Center Update – no new information at this time.
2016 Financial Report was reviewed by committee. Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson to approve and present to the public at the Annual Meeting. Motion carried.
Room Tax report – After viewing several websites that carry Short Term Rental’s, Wanda Hyde found one in Town of Bayview that has not been paying room tax. Board authorized Clerk to contact party in question to get them in compliance with the Room Tax Ordinance.
Bills in the amount of $43,037.46. Motion was made by Charly Ray and seconded by Don Jenicek to pay as presented. Motion carried.
Larry Nelson stated he would go to 2017 WTA District Meeting at Cumberland on March 31st.
Next meeting is set for April 18th at 6:00 p.m. with a break for the Annual Meeting at 7:00 p.m.
