Monthly Board Meeting
June 12th, 2012

Meeting was called to order by Chairman, Al House at 6:00 p.m.

Roll Call:  Larry Nelson Supervisor, present; Charly Ray Supervisor, absent; Al House Chairman, present; Wanda Hyde Clerk, present and Carol DeMars Treasurer, present.  Others present were:  Mike Yonan and David Hyde.

Charly Ray arrived.

Motion to approve minutes of May 8th, 2012 with the date change was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson.  Motion carried.

Motion to approve minutes of Special Board meeting to open bids for Washington Ave was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson.  Motion carried.

Motion to approve minutes of Board of Review was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson.  Motion carried.

Treasurer Report was given by Carol DeMars.  Checking $17,946.64; Regular Savings $51,836.53; Tax Levy Account $22,785.68; Equipment Fund $4,321.61 and Room Tax $3,652.61.

Motion to approve bills for payment in the amount of $180,108.49 was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson.  Motion carried.

Citizens Concerns and Comments – None.

Road Report

Big Rock holes have been repaired with recycled blacktop.

Tom from Bayfield County Highway will not be here tonight, but he had looked at the Little Sioux Culvert and the recent flood placed materials in the problem area so this area is not a problem at this time.   Tom did recommend Rip Rap is needed on the east side.

Dyke discussion on Little Sioux – Charly will contact the DNR on this issue.

Emergency Proclamation for Flood Damage will not take place as most issues were considered nuisance damage.

Shawn Haseleu of Wisconsin DNR contacted the Town Chairman regarding the culvert that was put in on Frostman Road.  Form Trans 207 will need to be filled out.  Mike Yonan will take care of this.

Barricades are needed in the event that there is a road that needs closed in the future.  Mike Yonan to get prices.

Road damage made by trucks hauling materials was discussed.  Chairman had talked to Mark Abeles- Allison and there will be a conference with all interested parties in the next couple of months.

Old Business

Charly Ray reported on USDA Stewardship Funding and the fact that there isn’t much chance for funding in this area.

Little Sioux slide was discussed.  Mike stated that a backhoe and truck load of rocks was all that was needed.

New Business –

Town History for 100 year centennial was discussed.  The town board is looking for someone to write up the history of the Town of Bayview.  Wanda Hyde was instructed to write a letter to Dick Bodin asking if he would be interested in this project.  Other suggestions were Beta Bodin and the Washburn Historical Society.

Correspondence – No action necessary.

Next meeting set for July 10th, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.
