Monthly Board Meeting
January 8, 2013

Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Al House.

Roll Call:  Supervisor Larry Nelson, here; Supervisor Charly Ray, here; Chairman Al House, here; Clerk Wanda Hyde, here and Treasurer Carol DeMars, here.   Others present were: David Hyde, Deb Gierczic, Paul Norris, Sue Radtke, Mike Yonan, Greg Rozier and Jay Pringle.

Approval of Minutes of 12/11/2012.  Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson to approve with Rae changed to Ray in last paragraph.  Motion carried.

Treasurer Report was given by Carol DeMars.  Checking $49,265.26; New Tax Account $134,008.80; Equipment Fund $4,322.66 and Room Tax $4,001.59.

Payment of Bills December 2012 $9,581.40 and for January 2013 $1,121.62.  Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson to approve bills as presented.  Motion carried.

Citizens Concerns –

It was noted that the website did not carry current agenda.

Road Report –

Mike Yonan Road Supervisor reported they had been brushing, sanding and plowing.  Discussion of logging operation use of town roads.

Platform for handicap accessibility has been increase per election inspector concerns.

Bridge Inspection report was reviewed.

Old Business –

Old Town Houghton display by Paul Johnson was tabled.

New Business –

Pay Kathryn Franta refund on taxes of $196.66.  Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Charly Ray to approve and pay.  Motion carried.

Newsletter discussion:  Centennial report/ celebration; Road Committee formed; pave Washington Ave; Frostman Road Rebuild; Water shed work on Big Rock Road; Emergency Development plan by Clerk; Repair 5 flood damaged culverts; grant monies for 1/3 of HFNP trail; Bear Proof containers; Parks Committee formed; fire rings for Bayview Park; Lodging places/room tax/parks work.  New equipment: Buzz Saw, Homemade broom by Mike and Jim, Stainless steel box for dump truck.  New windows and doors in the town hall as well as extension for landing on handicapped ramp.

Correspondence –

No action necessary.

Next meeting is set for February 12, 2013 6:00 p.m.
