Monthly Board Meeting February 11th, 2020

February 11th, 2020
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Charly Ray at 6 p.m.
Roll call: Supervisor Bill Bodin, present; Supervisor Don Jenicek, present; Chairman Charly Ray, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, excused absence; Treasurer Kelly Warren, present. Other present: Doug Ament, Butch Warren, Paul Johnson, Linda Jorgenson and Mike Yonan.
Minutes of January 14th, 2020. Motion was made to approve minutes with changes by Bill Bodin seconded by Don Jenicek. Motion carried.
Treasurer Report was given by Kelly Warren. Checking $49,835.23; equipment $1,106.51; room tax $11,264.22 and tax levy $488,683.36.
Paul Johnson invited the citizens to event center for depot presentation on February 27th at 7 p.m.
Citizen’s concerns and comments –
Doug Ament thanked the town for snow emergency clearing during storm.
Review 2020 budget –
2020 Budget – Charly Ray appreciated profit and loss sheet.
Will wait until Clerk is present to adjust figures for actual budget.
Room tax commission – Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Bill Bodin to accept Jay Pringle as resident representative with Bill Bodin moving to the position of lodging representative on the Room Tax Commission. Motion carried.
Room tax as of January 1st, marketers will be paying room tax on rooms they rent for owners.
Park and Preserve management- discussion with property owners, move this item to next meeting on March 10th. Discussion will be with adjacent owners to solve issues, parking lot issues, and gate. Charly Ray stated that he has a list of issues and that landowners should go to parks committee and the town board would keep parks on the agenda for March and April for solutions to problems.
Road Report by Mike Yonan.
Mike state he is trying not to order more salt/sand. Future wood company wants to get equipment in 5 corners early, second week of March FR 256 to North Boundary. We are at an elevated risk for flooding. Keep pushing snowbanks back. Putting contracts for paving Maki Road out for bid in March to be placed on April agenda. Generator installed, backup for town hall and garage are done. Radio is fixed, garage door is operating.
Charly Ray updated the Solid Waste agreement, no big changes, clarifying responsibility of bookkeeping and changed meetings to quarterly.
Charly Ray noted that we share the expenses of the landfill with the Town of Washburn and the City of Washburn.
Payment of bills in the amount of $264,335.33. Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Bill Bodin to approve as presented. Motion carried.
