Town of Bayview
December 7^th, 2021

Meeting was called to order by Chair Don Jenicek at 6:02 p.m.

Roll call:  Supervisor Mike Garnich, present; Supervisor Bill Bodin, present; Chair Don Jenicek, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren, present. Others were Mike Yonan.

Minutes of 11/9/21. Motion to approve minutes of 11/9/21 was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Don Jenicek. Mike Garnich abstained as he was not present. Motion carried.

Treasurer Report by Kelly Warren. Checking $110,631.13; Equipment $5,399.68; Room tax $7,978.67; Contingency Fund $20,002.52; Tax levy $30,928.53 and Equipment Purchase account $125,820.00.

The Board approved the Clerk taking HFNP total expenses from the Room tax account.

Citizen’s concerns and comments – there were none.

HFNP Update – Nothing new to report. Mike Garnich thought we should pursue providing a campsite for a worker with an agreement that they would caretake HFNP 20 hours per week.

Update on Mold spore remediation. They are still working in the basement. Mike Yonan said he had contacted someone regarding installing rain gutters in the Spring. Mike Garnich suggested we investigate a cellar door at the basement entrance. Mike Yonan will contact someone for an estimate.

Town Park- Preserve Ordinance 21-05 was reviewed for changes made. Motion was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Mike Garnich to approve the edits of Ordinance 21-05 and sign. Motion carried.

Roads Report by Mike Yonan. The International Dump Truck broke down and was towed to Tomlinson’s and they were able to fix right away. Dump truck is back in operation.

Motion to suspend regular monthly meeting was made.

 

Chair Don Jenicek called the 2022 Budget Hearing to order at 7:02 p.m. Those present were Clerk Wanda Hyde, Mike Yonan, Mike Garnich, Bill Bodin and Kelly Warren.

2022 Budget was reviewed.

Motion by Bill Bodin seconded by Kelly Warren to adjourn.

 

Chair Don Jenicek called the 2022 Special Town Meeting to approved 2021 tax levy to be collected in 2022 at 7:15 p.m.

Discussion of the 2021 Tax Levy to be collected in 2022 was reviewed. Noted that the Maki Road East loan was included in this levy.

Motion was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Mike Yonan to approve the Town of Bayview tax levy for 2021 to be collected in 2022 at $223,724.00 Motion carried.

Motion to adjourn was made by Kelly Warren seconded by Mike Yonan.

 

Chair Don Jenicek called the Special Town Meeting to adopt 2022 Bayview Budget to order at 7:22 p.m.

Motion was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Mike Garnich to adopt the 2022 Town of Bayview Budget. Motion carried.

Motion to adjourn was made by Mike Garnich seconded by Bill Bodin.

 

Reconvene Town of Bayview regular monthly meeting at 7:23 p.m.

Payment of bills in the amount of $34,360.44. Motion was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Mike Garnich to approve and sign bills as presented. Motion carried.

Correspondence – Kelly Warren and Wanda Hyde had questions regarding what to do with a person who had an Airbnb and has not paid any room tax.  Bill Bodin is going to contact this person direct and then Kelly Warren will check with BC Zoning to see if their permit can be revoked.

Next meeting is January 11^th, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.
