Town of Bayview
August 9^th, 2016

Call to order by Chairman Charly Ray at 6:00 p.m

Roll call:  Supervisor Larry Nelson, present; Supervisor Don Jenicek, present; Chairman Charly Ray, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren present.  Other present:  Butch Warren, Mike Yonan, Bill Bodin, Karen Bodin, Paul Johnson, Mike Garnish, Jen Croonborg-Murphy and John Carlson.

Minutes of July 12, 2016.  Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to approve as presented.  Motion carried.

Treasurer Report was given by Kelly Warren.  Checking $26,551.95; Equipment Fund $7,959.63; Room Tax account $6,273.15 and Tax levy account $12,903.37.

Citizen’s concerns – None

Road Report by Road Supervisor Mike Yonan.  Worked on Whiting Road and Little Sioux Hill (FR103).  Grass cutting continues.  Waiting to hear from Lupino with start date for blacktop on Friendly Valley Road.

5 year road plan was reviewed.  Decided to put Houghton Falls Road out for Blacktop bids.  Possible 50/50 reimbursement from a private party.    Discussed doing the big culvert on Maki Road next year with a 50/50 Bridge Aid.   Special meeting for possible resolution, and bid opening set for Sept. 29^th at 7:00 p.m. Charly Ray will have an updated 5 year road plan for next meeting.

Annual Picnic is set for September 10^th and post cards will be mailed out tomorrow.

Still waiting for a start date from the 2 grants for improvements to HFNP.

New signs have been installed at HFNP. 

Paul Johnson stated that the Byways Committee would like to replace the Kiosk at Bayview Beach Parking area.  After discussion it was decided not to change signs at this time.

Citation procedure was explained by John Carlson.  It is a lot of work for Kay Cedarburg to get set up.  We would need to fill out the citation, Bayfield County Sheriff’s department could be contacted with vehicle license number to get the correct information.  John Carlson will get back to us with bond amounts and courts costs.  Court costs change once a year on July 1^st.

Repeater purchase.  Motion made by Don Jenicek and Larry Nelson seconded purchasing the repeater and take the funds out of the equipment fund.  Motion carried.

Loan for Friendly Valley Road Project.  Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Don Jenicek to approve a loan with Bremer Bank in the amount of $120,000.00 at 2.49% interest for the paving contract for Friendly Valley Road and other associated expenses. Motion carried.

Payment of bills in the amount of $37,194.82.  Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to approve as presented.  Motion carried.

Next meeting is September 13^th, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
