Monthly Board Meeting August 8th, 2022

Meeting was called to order by Chair Don Jenicek at 6:04p.m.

Roll call:  Supervisor Mike Garnich, present; Supervisor Bill Bodin, present; Chair Don Jenicek, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren, present.  Others in attendance were Paul Johnson, Butch Warren, Mike Yonan, Brad & Mel Olson and Duane Potter.

Minutes of July 11th, 2022.  Motion was made by Mike Garnich seconded by Bill Bodin to approve as presented.  Motion carried.

Treasurer report by Kelly Warren.  Checking $51,376.05; Equipment $3,189.69; Room tax $5,907.34; Contingency $16,381.34 and Tax levy $137,974.80.

Citizens concerns and comments – Duane Potter questioned priority of grading roads.

HFNP hearing was set up for September 9th at 9 a.m.  Last meeting was a hearing to set up a hearing.

Discussion took place on the pros and cons of appointed v/s elected of the Town Clerk position.  Wanda Hyde is retiring April 2023 and clerk’s position was posted on the blackboard for election day.

Discussion on where to place more gravel took place. Mike Yonan stated that the Xcel would help with gravel on McCullock Road.

Some priority’s:  #1 Big Rock hill – cold patch holes.  #2 McCullock & Komborski – gravel just before freeze up.  #3 Friendly Valley from Niemisto West needs gravel. #4 Howl and Dryer Road needs gravel.

#5 Bodin road gravel if going to grind.

Motion was made by Mike Garnich seconded by Bill Bodin for gravel not to exceed $25,000 from blacktop budget to gravel projects as listed. Motion carried.

Mike Yonan stated that we would need $7,000 in gravel before grinding if we were going to complete this project this year.  Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Mike Garnich to approve the bid of Northwoods Paving to pulverize Bodin Road in the amount of $14,630.00.  Motion carried.

Motion was made by Mike Garnich seconded by Bill Bodin to transfer $10,000 to the diesel fuel budget from ARPA if possible if not from blacktop budget. Motion carried.

Discussion and action earmarking $$ for 2023 Blacktopping was tabled.

Discussion and action of allocation of ARPA funs $25,957.80 was tabled.

Roads report by Mike Yonan. Discussion of purchase of another mower took place from ARPA v/s 2023 Budget took place.

Town picnic was discussed.

Payment of bills in the amount of $64,247.56.  Motion was made by Mike Garnich seconded by Bill Bodin to approve as presented.  Motion carried.

Correspondence – no action necessary.

Next meeting was set for September 13th at 6:00 p.m.

Motion to adjourn was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Mike Garnich.
