Monthly Board Meeting August 13th, 2019

Meeting was called to order by Chairman Charly Ray at 6 p.m.

Roll call:  Supervisor Bill Bodin, present; Supervisor Don Jenicek, present; Chairman Charly Ray, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren, present.  Others present:  Butch Warren, Paul Johnson, Susan Raasch and Paul Norris.

Charly Ray suggested we move the Class B permit to the bottom of the agenda.

Minutes of July 9th, 2019.  Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Bill Bodin to approve the amended agenda.  Motion carried.

Treasurer report by Kelly Warren:  Checking $35,609.71; equipment fund $7,832.18; Room tax $7394.49 and tax levy account $1,000.84.

Budget review – Discussion regarding the income and expenses for the balance of the year.  Will work with budget numbers at the September meeting.  Discussion followed regarding borrowing to finish some roads with longer term loans.

Citizens concerns and comments – Paul Norris requested that Whiting Road needs graded as the traffic has increased over the past month.

Paul Johnson stated that we are ready to move the Depot, but they are in need of more funding.  The committee is looking for a new Treasurer at the end of the year.

Picnic is set for Saturday, August 17th.

CWD request for funds for dumpsters for this program came from Mark Abeles-Allison’s Bayfield County office.  Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Bill Bodin to give the county the $150.00 they are requesting and that these funds would come from Room tax account.  Motion carried.

Real estate in the Town of Bayview was reviewed at this time.

Road report – Mike Yonan was absent.

5- year Road Plan – No action this month.

Payment of bills in the amount of $52,103.93Motion was made by Bill Bodin seconded by Don Jenicek to approve as presented.  Motion carried.

Don Jenicek will attend the TRIP meeting on August 14th at the Bayfield County Highway Department.

Class B Permit Fishnote Properties to use his property as contactor yard for outdoor storage of trucks, equipment and material for Xcel Energy Project and Lake Effect Builders.  Only development would be to add gravel and outdoor power and lighting.  Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Bill Bodin to approve with request for applicant that they maintain screening vegetation and use low impact lighting.  Motion carried.

Correspondence – No action necessary.

Next meeting is set for September 10th, at 6:00 p.m.
