Monthly Board Meeting
April 12, 2011

 

Meeting was called to order by Chairman, Al House at 6:00 p.m.

Roll Call:  Larry Nelson, Supervisor; Charly Ray, Supervisor; Al House, Chairman; Carol DeMars, Treasurer; and Wanda Hyde, Clerk.  Others present were:  David Hyde, Deb Gierczic, Marge Peterson, David Strzok, Cindy Dillenschneider, Bob Bodin, Mike Yonan, Jan Ross, Mike Jackson, Gary VanDyke, Sue Jenicek, Don Jenicek, Tom Manley, Mary Ross, Kim Ross, Rita Sharp, Robert Sharp and Connie Jackson.

Approval of Minutes of March 8, 2011.  Motion was made to approve minutes by Charly Ray seconded by Al House.  Motion carried.

Treasurer Report – Carol DeMars reported Checking $56,449.90; Regular Savings $66,277.56; Tax account $54,424.03; HFNP $5,727.40; Equipment Fund $1,320.16 and Room Tax $18,027.52.

Payment of Bills –Motion to approve payment of bills in the amount of $98,396.60 was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Charly Ray.  Motion carried.

Citizens concerns and comments –

Road Report –

Mike Yonan Road Superintendant reported that they have rebuilt the roller, installed brakes on new trailer.  They have been dragging roads.

Old Business

Parks Committee – those wishing to be on the new parks Committee are: Sonja DorBinder, Jim Lean, Linda Jorgenson, Mark Smith, Tom Murphy, Bob Bodin, Paul Johnson, Jason Maloney, and Sue Jenicek.  Motion was made by Larry Nelson to approve Parks Committee with the above mentioned people to be members seconded by Charly Ray.  Motion carried.  The Parks Committee will hold meetings and appoint a chairperson and someone to keep minutes and report back to the Town Board.

Wanda Hyde reported that we had finally heard back from the Rural Insurance with $938 savings if we lower the value of equipment to the dollar amounts that Mike Yonan had come up with.

Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson to change to actual value of equipment.  Motion carried.

New Business –

Isaac Gilliland – Eagle Scout Project was a no show.

Al House reported that Eric Sauer will be building 4 picnic tables for Bayview Town Park as an Eagle Scout Project and two of the tables will be handicap accessible.

Permit by David F Strzok for a hobby farm was reviewed.  Charly Ray stated he was an adjacent land owner and would abstain from voting on this issue.  There was much opposition for the 8 beef cattle portion of this permit.  Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Al House to approve this permit application to accommodate raising up to 24 chickens but no cattle or livestock.  Motion carried.  Charly Ray did not vote.

Motion was made to temporary adjourn until after Annual Town Board Meeting was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Al House.  Motion carried.

Motion to reconvene the Regular Monthly Town Board meeting was made by Charly Ray seconded by Al House.  Motion carried.

Al House thanked both Bob Bodin and Don Jenicek for all they have done for the town.

Bayview Park Vault Toilet Permit is not ready.  Discussion followed regarding location of vault toilet and well abandonment.  Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Charly Ray that Mike Yonan and Al House file permit for vault toilet when it is prepared.  Motion carried.

Houghton Falls Grant Application was reported on by former Chair Don Jenicek.  He has filed the final request in the amount of $1,186.00.

Al House will contact Jays Tree Service regarding a tree on the Houghton Falls Nature trail that has to be removed.

Correspondence-

Correspondence received reminding us that the PASER pavement ratings are due to WisDOT by December 15th, 2011.  Mike Yonan takes care of this.

There is a Town Officials Workshop on Tuesday, May 24th, 2011 at Lakewoods Resort in Cable.  Al House, Larry Nelson, Charly Ray and Wanda Hyde will attend.

Next monthly meeting is set for Tuesday, May 10th, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.

Board of Review is set for May 11th, 2011.  Open book will be from 4 – 6:00 p.m. with the Board of Review from 6- 8:00 p.m.

Spring Road Tour is set for Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 at 8:30 a.m.

Motion to adjourn was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Charly Ray.
