Town of Bayview

Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chair.

Roll Call:  Chair Don Jenicek, present; Supervisor Bill Bodin, present; Supervisor Mike Garnich, present via phone; Clerk Kim Suske, present; Treasurer Kelly Warren, present.

Others in attendance:  No one.

Town Board Meeting Minutes from 11/12/2024:  Motion made by Bill Bodin to approve as written; seconded by Don Jenicek.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report by Kelly Warren:  Checking $49,221.50; Equipment $3400.98; Room Tax $15,509.03; Contingency Fund $20,115.50; and Tax Levy Savings $4223.94.

Citizen’s Concerns and Comments:  None.

Redesignation of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore as Apostle Islands National Park—Discussion and possible action:  Mike Garnich called Tom Tiffany’s office and asked for information and specifically stated that he did not want them to send him a form letter.  They sent him a form letter.  Bill Bodin sent an email to Tom Tiffany’s office and got a form letter in response.

Short-term rental policy and permit fees—Discussion and possible action:  Clerk was asked to send a letter to all short-term rental owners outlining the new ordinance.

Town Hall cleaning:  Tabled.

Houghton Falls Nature Preserve:  No updates.

Budget adjustments—Discussion and possible action:  Adjustments to 2024 budget—we overbudgeted for diesel (mild winter last year) so money from that account can be used to cover other expenses.  Motion made by Don Jenicek to use Diesel Fuel dollars to cover overage on Road Rebuild; seconded by Bill Bodin.  Motion carried.

Roads Report:  None.

Board Comments:  None.

Payment of Bills:  Motion made by Bill Bodin to approve payment of Town bills from November 13, 2024 to December 3, 2024 in the amount of $10,970.19; seconded by Don Jenicek.  Motion carried.

Correspondence:  Clerk shared letter from Bayfield County Board of Supervisors—Adoption of Bayfield County Amendatory Ordinance 2024-13.

Next Town of Bayview Regular Board meeting is set for January 14, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.

Caucus set for January 14, 2025, at 7 p.m.

Moton to adjourn was made by Don Jenicek; seconded by Bill Bodin.  Motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
