Town of Bayview Road Tour Minutes
Monday, May 9, 2022

Meeting called to order at 7:34 a.m. by Don Jenicek, Town Chairmen. Also present were Bill Bodin, Mike Yonan and Butch Warren. Absent was Michael Garnich.

Notes taken on the discussions while on tour include:

Big Rock Road – Patch work on culvert south of Big Rock bridge and work to repair two tree roots growing under asphalt. Mike Yonan is to contact Lupino as well regarding interest in submitting a proposal for overlay on the northern stretch of Big Rock Road, as the estimate from Northwoods has gone up from roughly $62k to $114k. If Lupino will not submit a proposal, would they do some patch work on other areas as needed.

Niemisto Road – gravel needed in several spots and a culvert has collapsed and will need to be replaced north of the Potters residence.

Friendly Valley Road – gravel needed near the gravel pit. We reviewed were the access is to the track of land ownded by the Town of Bayview west of the driveway to the Kelly residence (old Loveland area). Mike Yonan is also to contact several loggers for any interest in clearing off the property for possible lumber sale and assess preliminary value. Noted the amount of trees cleared by Xcel Energy for redundant powerline that is on hold. Gravel will be needed after frost heaves leave the area west of the Big Rock Road. Cold mix asphalt in spots on Sioux River Bridge. Another culvert to be replaced near Ray residence on Friendly Valley Road.

Kjarvick Road – good condition.

Potter Road – noted Xcel Power Line poles will be realigned and are not to infringe on town road right of way.

McCulloch Road – needs to be regraded and large poplar trees dying, leaning near corner by Newago residence should be monitored.

Whiting Road discussed as needing to be graded on western end of it and some pot holes to be addressed.

Bayview Road – in good condition with lower lake water levels.

Bodin Road – Mike is to contact Scott at Northwoods for updated price for wedge and overlay. Also to source out potential ditching along ravines to reduce wash out near culverts.

Frostman Road – gravel as needed in bare areas.

Gary Road – reviewed property lines and elevations near the town land for potential development of parking lot.

Travelled back to Town Garage. Bill motioned for meeting to be adjourned at 9:00 a.m. Don seconded. Motion carried.
