Monthly Board Meeting December 12, 2017

December 12, 2017
Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Charly Ray.
Roll Call: Supervisor Larry Nelson, present; Supervisor Don Jenicek, present; Chairman Charly Ray, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren, present. Others present: Phil Norrgard, Lorraine Norrgard, Mike Yonan, Bill Bodin, John Sopiwnik, Paul Norris and David Hyde.
Approval of Minutes 11/14/2017. Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to approve minutes as presented. Motion carried.
Treasurer report by Kelly Warren. Checking $9,114. 47; Equipment $4,829.01; Room Tax $94.48; Tax levy $2,061.75.
Lorraine Norrgard requested time to speak about the Xcel Energy Bayfield 2nd Circuit Transmission Project and the Bayfield Peninsula Energy Alternative progress. Phil Norrgard stated that the best alternative would be use the existing corridor and double up. John Sopiwnik reported that Xcel hasn’t explored all options and haven’t been able to answer questions.
Motion made by Charly Ray and Larry Nelson seconded to support the citizens group by signing the letter presented stating we support the use of this tool to help decide which route option for Xcel’s Second Circuit project will best fit with the and meet the needs of our community. Motion carried.
Citizen’s concerns and comments –
Bill Bodin questioned whether Bodin road was open to ATV and Snowmobile traffic. Mike Yonan stated that all roads in the Town of Bayview were open to ATV and snowmobile traffic. Mike would see about signage for Bodin Road.
Road Report-
HFNP Gate wasn’t working as it was frozen from the recent freezing rain.
Charly Ray sent wording to Jason Bodine to be included in bid letting of timber sales in Town of Bayview, regarding closing of Smith Fire Lane during saturated, vulnerable conditions.
TRIP – We will get the full $37,500.00 of Counties share.
5 – yr. Road Plan – No changes at this time, and Charly Ray will make the corrections that were made last month.
Payment of bills in the amount of $13,096.35. Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Don Jenicek to approve as presented and sign. Motion carried.
