Monthly Board Meeting April 18th, 2017

Meeting was called to order by Chairman, Charly Ray at 6:00 p.m.

Roll Call:  Supervisor Larry Nelson, present; Supervisor Don Jenicek, present; Chairman Charly Ray, present; Clerk Wanda Hyde, present and Treasurer Kelly Warren, present:  Others present were:

David Hyde, Bill Bodin, Paul Norris, Mike Yonan and Butch Warren.

Minutes of March 14th, 2017.  Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Don Jenicek to approve the minutes with two changes by Charly Ray.  Motion carried.

Treasurer report was given by Kelly Warren.  Checking $32,990.09; Equipment $1,828.39; Room Tax $2,437.83 and Tax levy account $73,042.45.

Citizen’s Concerns and Comments

Paul Norris stated that Whiting Road drivability was great until rain and the secondary ditches showed up.

Road Report –

Mike Yonan reported that everything is great except secondary ditches.

Nancy Campbell has verbally agreed to that cedar trees and 4 maples in the ditch removed on Maki Road.  Charly Ray will write a letter of confirmation.

Mike would like to remove trees on shoulder of Bodin’s Road also.

Big Rock hill has a bad spot – will need cutting out, rock drain and patched.

5 Year Road Plan

Charly Ray stated that the board had their virtual road tour this morning.  Larry Nelson would get the minutes to the Clerk.

Charly stated that Big Rock Boil and the Cedar tree removal on Maki Road will need to be done this year.

Possible Action on Trail Work plan for Houghton Falls

Don Jenicek has talked with Mike Fries and he has stated he would come to our May or June meeting.

Wanda Hyde had the Coastal Management Contract that needed Charly Ray’s signature.

Charly Ray stated he is working with Jenny Murphy from BC Zoning on a permit for work on Houghton Fall trail work.

Charly Ray will be putting in for a DNR Grant for matching funds for Houghton Falls trail work.

Heritage Center update – Charly Ray reported that because of family issues Jenny Murphy has stepped down from this project.

We need more people interested in helping with this project.  Peg Lukaskawcez would be interested in helping with the application process.

Bills in the Amount of $73,481.31.  Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to approve as presented. Motion carried.

Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to temporary adjourn for the Annual Meeting.  Motion carried.

Motion was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson to re-convene.  Motion carried.

Correspondence –  No action necessary.

Next Meeting is set for May 9th a 6:00 p.m.

Motion to adjourn was made by Don Jenicek seconded by Larry Nelson at 7:50.
