Monthly Board Meeting
November 12, 2012
Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Al House. Roll Call: Supervisor Larry Nelson, not here; Supervisor Charly Rae, here; Chairman Al House, here; Clerk Wanda Hyde, here and Treasurer Carol DeMars, here. Others present: Mike Yonan, Greg Rozier, Sue Jenicek and Jay Pringle.
Approval of Minutes of 10/9/2012. Motion was made by Al House seconded by Charly Ray to approve minutes as presented. Motion carried.
Larry Nelson arrived.
Approval of Minutes of closed session of 10/9/2012. Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Treasurer Report was given by Carol DeMars. Checking $20,259.02; Regular Savings $21,847.71; Tax account $12,795.24; Equipment fund $4,322.33 and Room Tax $2,602.34.
Payment of Bills in the amount of $43,388.08. Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson to approve payment of bills as presented. Motion carried.
Citizens concerns and comments –
Al House stated that Coastal Management has approved payment of one garbage can under their grant.
Parks Committee representative Sue Jenicek reported on their last meeting of October 30, 2012. She presented the board with drafts of Bow Hunting permit and Trapping permit at Houghton Falls Nature Preserve and a draft of duties for Town of Bayview Volunteer for parks.
Bow Hunting Permit was reviewed by town board. Motion was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson to approve the Bow hunting permit with the word Bow added to heading and or property added to 4th paragraph, date range and signature added. Motion carried.
Trapping Permit was reviewed by town board. Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Charly Ray to approve trapping permit with the word hunting replaced by trapping in 3 locations and or property added to 4th paragraph, with date range and signature added. Motion carried.
Town of Bayview Park Volunteer job duties were reviewed. Motion to approve recommendations of Parks Committee was made by Charly Ray seconded by Larry Nelson. Motion carried.
Camping at Bayview Park was brought up by Mike Yonan. Would like Parks Committee to look into camping at Bayview Park at their next meeting in March of 2013.
Road Report –
Ad Hoc Committee –
Greg Rozier reported that they are still gathering information, will have a report by our March meeting.
Letter to the DNR regarding Little Sioux crossing of Friendly Valley Road was prepared by Charly Ray. After review of letter a motion was made by Al House seconded by Larry Nelson to have this letter put on town letterhead and mailed. Motion carried
Mike Yonan reported that the buzz saw would be here on Wednesday. The town crew has been preparing for winter.
Old Business –
HFNP fence issue has been brought to corporate counsel John Carlson.
New Business–
Treasurer Bond and Resolution was read. Motion was made by Al House seconded by Larry Nelson to approve and sign Resolution 12-6. Motion carried.
2013 Budget was reviewed. Motion was made by Larry Nelson seconded by Chary Ray to approve the 2013 Budget. Motion carried.
Correspondence –
No action necessary.
Budget Hearing is set for Thursday November 29th, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
Next meeting will be December 11th, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.
Motion to adjourn was made by Charly Ray and seconded by Larry Nelson.
